Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Professional in Business Psychology to join our team at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality educational experiences to our students, contributing to the development of our curriculum, and supporting our quality assurance processes.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing, planning, and delivering lectures, tutorials, and other teaching and learning activities;
  • Designing assessments and assessing student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met;
  • Providing timely and constructive feedback to students;
  • Providing academic support and guidance to students as necessary;
  • Developing, updating, and improving course materials as appropriate and necessary;
  • Keeping up to date with best practice in teaching and learning, and ensuring that their teaching reflects best practice and embeds technologies that enhance the learning experience;
  • Contributing to the design, development, delivery, review, and enhancement of programmes of study within the Faculty and across GBS as a whole;
  • Attending meetings as required, and developing productive working relationships within the various teams they will be engaged with;
  • Participating in internal and external events, such as programme reviews, open days, outreach activities, and partner and internship visits;
  • Undertaking a reflective programme of staff development, which includes teaching observations, directed study, workshop participation, and experiential learning;
  • Supporting and engaging in the creation, application, and/or dissemination of new knowledge in their field of study and/or in higher education practice;
  • Participating in the GBS performance management programme, meeting a range of clearly defined objectives for student outcomes, student satisfaction, retention, and attendance;
  • Acting as a Module Leader or undertaking other administrative/management duties, commensurate with the level of the appointment, and as determined by the Dean;
  • Taking on other responsibilities as required to support the work of GBS, which may include acting in a more senior capacity as part of a programme of professional development.
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree (preferably in Business Psychology) and preferably a doctoral level qualification in their field, or be able to demonstrate success at an equivalent level professionally;
  • A passion for education as a transformative activity;
  • Experience of, and a passion for, working in widening access environments;
  • Experience of teaching in higher education;
  • Experience of supervising student work and providing support and feedback;
  • Experience with distance learning and supporting learners both face-to-face and remotely, demonstrating professional conduct in all interactions with staff and students;
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter;
  • Attention to detail and accurate reporting;
  • The ability to maintain thorough and organised student records;
  • The ability to work under pressure, plan, and prioritise their own workload to meet tight deadlines;
  • High motivation and the ability to work with minimum supervision;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • The ability to work with diverse groups of people;
  • The ability to demonstrate industry experience in the field of Business Psychology.
