Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 class in Derby. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering lessons and providing individualized support to students.

About the Role
  • Support teachers in delivering lessons across the year 6 curriculum.
  • Provide one-to-one and group assistance to students, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation.
  • Assist in assessing student progress and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Delivering high-quality support to students, ensuring they reach their full potential.
  2. Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to develop effective lesson plans and strategies.
  3. Maintaining accurate records of student progress and development.
  4. Providing one-to-one or small group sessions on key subjects, particularly in the lead-up to SATS.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant Childcare-based qualification (Level 2, Level 3, HLTA, or equivalent).
  • An Enhanced Child Only DBS on the update service.
  • Experience working in a primary school setting, preferably in KS2/Year 6.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong commitment to the safeguarding and development of children.
Salary and Benefits
