Key Responsibilities
  • Reading and reporting on new submissions to ensure quality and relevance to our lists
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in our Biblio database and book metadata
  • Assisting with administrative and editorial tasks as needed, such as preparing manuscripts for publication and coordinating offset files
  • Drafting high-quality cover copy, straplines, and other creative content in collaboration with editors
  • Providing exceptional administrative support to senior team members, including the Publisher and Publishing Director
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for colleagues with queries about the publishing schedule and external enquirers
Requirements
  • Possess a passion for children's and young adult literature, with a keen interest in current market trends
  • Demonstrate strong writing, editing, and oral communication skills
  • Show exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external partners
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn new skills and software
  • Show ability to work calmly under pressure
