About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious assurance leader who is looking to develop and grow the ESG assurance team in a high-profile role. As the ESG Director, you will be responsible for leading a small, high-growth team with ringfenced investment secured, shaping the future strategic direction of the ESG offering.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain subject matter expertise across sustainability/ESG regulations and reporting requirements
  2. Originate and develop a pipeline of prospects
  3. Ensure team practices and service offerings are compliant with assurance standards
  4. Partner with board-level executives on complex ESG issues, negotiate and influence where required
  5. Utilise understanding of ESG and market insights on trends and technology to identify opportunities
  6. Maintain quality of engagements, focusing on improvement and feedback
  7. Motivate and encourage the team, providing timely constructive feedback
  8. Lead the ESG assurance team through growth and expansion
Requirements:
  1. Experience leading non-audit assurance teams specialising in ESG
  2. Designing and implementing non-audit assurance work programmes
  3. Delivering ESG advisory projects (Double materiality assessments, Gap analysis, maturity Assessments etc.)
  4. Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks and standards (ISSB, CSRD, etc.)
  5. Ideal ACA qualification

Our ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of ESG principles and experience in non-audit assurance.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £120,000 per annum, reflecting the company's commitment to attracting top talent.
