Job Title: Payroll and HR System Specialist
Job Summary:
SYNLAB UK & Ireland, a leading provider of pathology and medical diagnostics services, is seeking a dedicated Payroll and HR System Specialist to support the transition of HR and payroll systems from projects to business as usual (BAU) in the UK. The successful candidate will drive business change and efficiency through HR digitisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Administration: Support the delivery of SYNLAB managed service payroll, handle data submissions, check payrolls, and provide approvals for BACS and other payments.
- System Management: Administer the MHR/iTrent payroll system and SYNLAB Compass, perform system tasks, and support HR customers with system use.
- Pension and Benefits Administration: Manage pension schemes, employment benefits, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- HR and Payroll Process Development: Develop and implement HR/payroll processes aligned with managed service payroll systems, supporting changes to working practices.
About the Role:
The Payroll and HR System Specialist will report to the Head of HR Solutions and will be responsible for managing shared HR and payroll systems across multiple SYNLAB businesses in the UK. This hands-on, delivery-focused role requires attention to detail and the ability to manage large data sets.
Requirements:
- GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) with excellent numeracy and literacy skills
- Proven IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Ability to provide accurate payroll and HR advice
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proactive and adaptable to changing demands
- Good knowledge of HR processes and Pension schemes
- Excellent numerical ability and communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience in a diverse, multi-site organisation
- Previous payroll department experience or working with outsourced payroll providers
- Skills in root cause analysis and problem resolution
