Job Title: Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager

As a key member of our Uttoxeter factory team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained across all aspects of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement effective food safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Lead the site's quality pillar and contribute to building the site's Integrated Work System (IWS) capability, positively impacting business goals.
  • Champion the proactive management of quality and food safety risks across site change activities, including material, process, product, and personnel.
  • Develop and implement CAPEX plans and drive process improvements that focus on food safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with production, supply chain, and R&D departments to ensure technical standards are upheld and integrated into the wider business strategy.
Requirements:
  • Food Safety and Quality Management Expertise – In-depth knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP/BRC/SALSA) and the ability to manage quality assurance systems to maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Leadership and Team Management – Strong leadership skills to manage, mentor, and develop technical and quality teams, ensuring high performance and fostering a culture of food safety across the site.
  • Problem-Solving and Risk Management – Proficiency in identifying and mitigating risks related to food safety, quality, and compliance, along with problem-solving capabilities to address non-conformance or process inefficiencies.
  • Collaboration and Communication Skills – Excellent communication abilities to work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure technical standards are upheld and integrated into the wider business strategy.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Change Management – Experience with driving continuous improvement initiatives, such as IWS or Lean Manufacturing, to enhance processes, reduce waste, and improve product consistency and customer satisfaction.
