About The Service

The Education and Lifelong Learning Directorate at Cardiff Council provides strategic, professional, and operational support to enable the Council to fulfill its responsibilities for early years education, statutory age education, education in school sixth forms, and a youth service.

With 128 schools in Cardiff, including 3 nursery schools, 99 primary schools, 18 secondary schools, 7 special schools, and 1 pupil referral unit, the Directorate supports a large and diverse student population. As of January 2023, there are 56,995 learners in Cardiff schools, with an additional 338 learners educated outside of school and 308 pre-16 learners.

What We Are Looking For From You

We are seeking an experienced and innovative officer to support the transformation of business processes and management information systems. The successful candidate will provide technical knowledge and expertise to ensure the accuracy of data collection, storage, and reporting methods. This will involve working with managers, staff, ICT, and schools to optimize the flow of data accuracy within the central Education Management System.

The ideal candidate will be a competent user of databases and reporting tools, motivated, and able to identify and resolve problems to deliver positive solutions. A high level of attention to detail is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the transformation of business processes and management information systems
