Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in our schools located in Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas.

Job Summary:

This is a temporary to permanent position, and the successful candidate will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to provide individualized support to students with a range of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Senior Learning Support Assistants and Teachers to prepare resources that meet the individual learning objectives of assigned students.
  • Provide 1:1 support, under the supervision of the class Teacher, for skills-based learning.
  • Track and report on student progress using evidence-based methods, in collaboration with the class Teacher.
  • Facilitate student learning by understanding their goals and targets, encouraging the practice of new skills, and promoting independence.
  • Provide comprehensive support to ensure the well-being and engagement of students in learning.
  • Adhere to Safeguarding policies and procedures to maintain a safe learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred but not required.
  • Proactive mindset to take initiative.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities.
