FCC Environment is seeking a skilled Environmental Assistant to support our operations at the Recycling Centre. This is a full-time role with a 40 hour working week, offering flexible hours and shift patterns.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Safely operating the Recycling Centre in line with company procedures and policies

• Collaborating with the Recycling Team Leader to ensure delivery of a safe and efficient service

• Ensuring site operations meet the Service Delivery Plan and contract requirements

• Maintaining high Health and Safety standards on site

• Promoting reuse and recycling practices among users and managing staff to maximise these efforts

• Conducting daily site inspections and reporting results accordingly

• Monitoring container usage and providing regular updates

• Completing routine equipment checks and inspections

• Identifying and applying charges for chargeable waste items

• Following sales procedures and recording results in accordance with company policy

• Assisting in the detection of unlawful commercial waste disposal practices

• Preventing unauthorised access to the Recycling Centre

Estimated salary: £28,000 - £33,000 per annum.
