At Protocol Education, we are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as a SEMH Support Worker at our partner school in Hastings.

The school is part of an Ofsted 'outstanding' multi-academy trust and offers a nurturing environment for pupils with SEMH needs. As a SEMH Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding education and care, focusing on building resilience in pupils for their future lives.

Salary: £12.90 - £13.50 per hour

Job Description:

  • Supervise and support pupils with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Set challenging expectations and promote self-esteem and independence.
  • Provide feedback to pupils under the guidance of teachers.
  • Assist in planning learning activities.
  • Monitor pupils' responses to learning activities and record achievement/progress.
  • Promote good pupil behaviour, deal with conflict and incidents according to established policy, and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour.

Requirements:

  • Devotion and resilience to support children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • Ability to motivate students towards high achievement.
  • Commitment to fulfilling the needs of pupils experiencing behavioural, emotional, or learning difficulties, and social communication difficulties.
