We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to join our team at Progressive Building Society.

In this role, you will be responsible for handling mortgage applications, analysing credit history and financial information, and making mortgage eligibility judgements.

The successful candidate will have strong underwriting experience, excellent numeracy and Microsoft Office skills, and be able to work flexibly within a hybrid arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling multiple cases to expected standards in accordance with our Lending and mortgage-related policies, TMF principles, regulatory requirements, and FCA responsible lending best practice
  • Analysing applicant's credit history and financial information to assess eligibility
  • Making mortgage eligibility judgements, approving or rejecting applications
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, mortgage policies, procedures and guidelines

Requirements

  • 3+ years' mortgage underwriting experience
  • Strong underwriting experience
  • Excellent numeracy and Microsoft Office skills
  • Detail-oriented with good data accuracy
