Job Description:

Farmfoods is seeking a skilled Assistant Shop Manager to join our team in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. As part of our shop management team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, developing and leading a team of retail assistants, and ensuring the smooth operation of the shop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the shop manager to achieve sales targets and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and motivate a team of retail assistants to achieve excellent results in customer service, sales, and shop routines.
  • Be accountable for the shop in the absence of the shop manager and ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Support the shop manager with recruitment, induction, and training of new team members.
  • Take responsibility for motivating and guiding your team to ensure the control of operational costs, including shrinkage, waste, and payroll.

Requirements:

  • A friendly, positive, and hard-working approach to work.
  • To be a 'people person' who finds it easy to get on with everyone and build strong working relationships with colleagues.
  • To be trustworthy and reliable, as you will be an important part of a small team.
  • Some experience as a manager, team leader, or supervisor.
