We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced nursing professional to join our faculty team at Widener University's School of Nursing.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate nursing curricula, collaborating with colleagues to develop and review curricula, engaging in scholarly productivity, mentoring students, and participating in service to the university and community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Design and deliver evidence-based teaching strategies for undergraduate nursing curricula, collaborate with colleagues to develop, review, and revise curricula to ensure compliance with accreditation and national standards.
  • Scholarly Productivity: Engage in research and scholarly activities to contribute to the advancement of nursing knowledge.
  • Mentorship and Advising: Mentor and advise students, provide guidance and support to help them achieve their academic and professional goals.
  • Service: Participate in service to the university, School of Nursing, and community, contribute to the creation of an environment that promotes diversity, inclusivity, growth, equality, and freedom of speech.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Licensure: Current Multistate Compact License as a Registered Nurse or Pennsylvania RN licensure (or US RN licensure and eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania).
  • Experience: Three years of academic teaching experience (can include clinical teaching) and a minimum of three (3) years of practice as a registered nurse in Psych/Mental Health Nursing.
  • Skills: Demonstrated excellence in communication and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Research Doctorate: Earned Research Doctorate for tenure-track or Practice Doctorate for clinical track.
  • Certifications: Certification in Psych/Mental Health Nursing, Certification as a Psych/Mental Health Advance Practice Nurse, and Certification as a Nurse Educator (CNE).
Physical Requirements and Unusual Hours
  • May require teaching in the evening and participation in recruitment events in the evening and on weekends.
