About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Study Director to join our Aquaculture Division at Moredun Scientific Limited. As a Study Director, you will be responsible for leading and managing studies evaluating vaccines, therapeutics, and other fish health products for use in farmed fish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Study Director/Investigator for studies appropriate to your level of experience
  • Play a supporting role in other studies with requirements ranging from routine laboratory and live-phase support to developing areas of expertise
  • Participate in a weekend rota, for which additional payment is made

Requirements

  • A biological degree
  • Contract Research or Project Management experience
  • Biological expertise in fish health
  • Experience of working with finfish (preferably salmonids) in a research setting
  • Experience of working in a biological laboratory environment
  • A good understanding of research quality management systems (e.g. VICH-GCP, GLP)
  • Knowledge of the aquaculture industry
  • A good understanding of fish infectious diseases and the use of challenge models
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills and effective organisational abilities
  • A driving licence and right to work in the UK

Desirable Qualifications

  • Home office individual licence holder training
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines for safety and efficacy studies for veterinary medicinal products
