Lead Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Nurse Specialist to join our team at Welsh Blood Service. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership for our Specialist Nurse, Stem Cell Donation Coordination Unit staff, and Stem Cell collection staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership for WBMDR Specialist Nurse, Stem Cell Donation Coordination Unit staff, and Stem Cell collection Staff.
- Provide line management for Band 6 WBMDR Nurse Specialist staff.
- Deputise for the Head of WBMDR.
- Development and delivery of stem cell collection multidisciplinary education and training programmes.
- Lead role in clinical audit and service development to improve donor care and experience.
- Take the lead in clinical incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective action.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
- Degree and postgraduate 'Masters' level qualification or equivalent level of post-qualification experience.
- Demonstrate a specialist understanding of stem cell transplant and donation procedures.
- Knowledge of guidelines around donor selection for HPC donation.
