Job Title: Senior Cisco UCS and Virtualisation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Cisco UCS and Virtualisation Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) and a comprehensive understanding of virtualization technologies including VMware, Red Hat Virtualisation, and OpenShift.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage Cisco UCS environments, including architecting, deploying, and maintaining Cisco UCS infrastructure.
  • Configure and manage UCS components, including Fabric Interconnects, service profiles, and hardware.
  • Design, deploy, and manage virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere, Red Hat Virtualisation, and OpenShift.
  • Monitor and optimize virtual environments to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Integrate UCS and virtualisation solutions with existing IT infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts and tools using Ansible to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Proactively monitor system performance and address potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues related to UCS, VMware, Red Hat Virtualisation, and OpenShift platforms.
  • Conduct capacity planning to ensure the infrastructure can meet future demands.
  • Implement scalable solutions to support business growth.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Generate regular reports on system performance, capacity, and health.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in managing Cisco UCS and virtualisation environments.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing complex IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of Cisco UCS architecture, components, and management tools.
  • Proficiency in virtualisation technologies such as VMware vSphere, Red Hat Virtualisation, and OpenShift.
  • Strong understanding of network and storage integration with UCS and virtual environments.
  • Extensive experience with automation and scripting tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration using Kubernetes and OpenShift.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, and storage.
