Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at Active Care Group. The successful candidate will work in a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation unit, delivering a specialist Speech and Language Therapy service to patients with complex speech, language and communication impairments and swallowing difficulties.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a fast-paced neurorehabilitation setting, with knowledge of evidence-based approaches in the treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. They will also possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and autonomously.
As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and developing individualised treatment plans for service users. You will also implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provide specialist advice and training to families, carers, and other professionals, and supervise and mentor junior staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualised treatment plans for service users with complex communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide specialist advice and training to families, carers, and other professionals.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff and students.
- Participate in clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to service development and innovation to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements:
- HCPC registration.
- Experience working within a fast-paced neurorehabilitation setting.
- Knowledge of evidence-based approaches in the treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous experience in a Band 6 or Band 7 SLT role.
