Senior EC&I Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior EC&I Engineer to join our team in Cumbria. As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of EC&I drawings, production of cable calculations and lighting calculations, and checking of others' work to ensure design deliverables are produced to a high standard and compliant with all relevant internal and client procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain EC&I drawings, including Block Cable Diagrams and Single Line Diagrams.
  2. Produce cable calculations and lighting calculations to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  3. Check and verify the work of others to ensure design deliverables meet high standards and are compliant with procedures.
  4. Produce technical documents, such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, and Method Statements.
  5. Take ownership of design deliverables throughout the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operations, and decommissioning phases of a project.
  6. Produce and check CDM Risk Registers and Technical Files for new products/plant and equipment.
  7. Present technical solutions to clients and others in formal and informal settings.
  8. Manage a team of engineers/designers to deliver the engineering scope as required by the project.
  9. Mentor engineers/designers to improve their skills and enhance the company's capabilities.
  10. Develop and maintain good working relationships with key counterparts.
  11. Assess and respond to concessions and technical queries.
  12. Prepare and review quality plans for single discipline work packages.
Requirements:
  1. At least 5+ years' experience in the nuclear industry.
  2. Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  3. Chartered Member of the IET.
  4. Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes, and directives.
  5. Proven knowledge of EC&I design theories, principles, practices, and techniques.
  6. Strong knowledge of Technical Files for new products/plant and equipment.
  7. Experience of design in accordance with the IET 18th edition (BS7671).
  8. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
  9. Understanding of CAE packages.
