About the Role

Oxford Global Resources UK is currently seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join their team on an initial 6-month contract, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in purchasing and procurement, preferably within the Life Sciences sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raising purchase orders using the company's ERP system, based on material requirements planning (MRP), and communicating them to suppliers.
  • Securing and documenting supplier order acknowledgments for all purchase orders, updating the system as needed.
  • Optimizing the weekly procurement plan by running exception message reports and adjusting the supplier order book accordingly.
  • Managing communication of the procurement plan and forecasts with Class A+ (critical) suppliers, supporting supplier business reviews and implementing action plans to address supply issues.
  • Monitoring material expiry dates and proactively working to minimize scrap, proposing solutions as needed.
  • Escalating unresolved issues in daily Tier meetings, providing clear problem statements and preliminary solutions prior to escalation.
  • Maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet division targets.
  • Ensuring accurate record-keeping for supplier and broker documentation within the ERP system for each order.
  • Addressing invoice price discrepancies, ensuring alignment between master data and supplier records.
  • Adhering to all process, regulatory, health, safety, and quality compliance standards.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in purchasing/procurement, ideally within Life Sciences, Pharma, or Biotech sectors.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.

The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, with the option for one remote day per week following training and onboarding. This position has the potential to be extended to a permanent role. Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
