Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist

Location: West Sussex

Job Type: Full-time

MLK Education Search is seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to support students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1, paired, and group interventions to meet provision outlined on pupil's EHCP
  • Help students with specific areas of difficulty and develop interventions to target SEMH needs
  • Implement strategies for students' emotional regulation to increase engagement in learning and develop pupils' self-esteem
  • Attend multi-disciplinary meetings and training for the Education team, Pupil Support team, Safeguarding team, and Therapy team
  • Liaise with parents and carers on students' emotional regulation and sensory needs at home
  • Partake in the assessment process of the school and contribute to the right feedback
  • Keep clinical notes and complete assessments highlighting issues of concern to the teams around the students and track progress

Requirements:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent with license to practice
  • Post-graduate qualification in a related area
  • Experience working with children with complex SEMH needs
