Job Title: SIU Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SIU Manager to join our team at SGN. As a SIU Manager, you will be responsible for managing all SGN activities and resources, including the LNG storage facility, mains network, and provision of Emergency service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the management of all SGN activities and resources, ensuring the provision of safe, cost-effective, and customer-focused operations.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and SGN Standards of Service, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage the maintenance and installation of operational plant located in hazardous and non-hazardous areas, including various gas, electrical, and instrumentation asset measurement systems.
  • Participate in a high-frequency emergency standby rota, receiving additional payments for this.
  • Monitor and improve productivity to drive performance, promoting best practice, identifying, and introducing business improvements to achieve business targets.
  • Manage projects associated with modifications to the SIU plant and gas distribution network, including the preparation of capital applications.
  • Manage the construction process associated with new pipelines and plant, upgrading or replacing plant and equipment or diverting pipelines, liaising with local authorities, contractors, customers, and the general public to promote good customer relations.
  • Maintain appropriate records to satisfy legal and operational requirements.
  • Ensure that annual maintenance programs are completed in accordance with legislative requirements and Company policy.
  • Prepare, plan, and authorize operations in accordance with the Safe Control of Operations procedures.
Requirements:
  • We are looking for a positive and motivated individual with good leadership skills, organizational, diagnostic, problem-solving, and people management skills.
  • You will have at least two years of engineering experience, together with a formal recognized engineering qualification to HND level.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Gas industry are advantageous.
  • The nature of the job means that you may be expected to work variable hours and will be required to participate as necessary in a high-frequency standby rota.
