About the Role:

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will provide vital support to students with various SEMH-related needs. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with an ongoing contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in developing their social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
  • Liaise with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider community professionals to ensure students are on track.
  • Contribute to creating a progressive and welcoming learning environment.
  • Work with students in various year groups with learning disabilities, including Autism, ADHD, and Mental Health needs.

About the School:

Our primary and secondary school is located in Haringey, North London Borough. We have a tight-knit community and a supportive team. The school is easily accessible by public transport, and street parking is offered close to the site. We have a high conversion rate of graduates who started as SEN TAs and now practice as Psychologists.

Requirements:

We are looking for an academic individual who holds a degree in a related field. Prior experience working with students is ideal but not essential. You should have an understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and be empathetic, proactive, and ambitious. If you are interested in pursuing a career in Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, Counselling, or Pastoral Work, this role could be an excellent stepping stone.
