Job Title: Education Assistant Role

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Education Assistants to support students' educational journey at Opogo.

About the Role:

  • Provide individualized support to students, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with experienced teachers to implement tailored learning plans, ensuring students receive targeted support.
  • Support students' social and emotional growth through collaborative efforts with parents and caregivers, promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Assist in managing classroom behavior, creating an optimal setting for effective teaching and learning.
  • Prepare and organize learning materials and resources, ensuring efficient teaching practices.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular updates to teachers, and facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Assist students during school activities, outings, and events, promoting inclusivity and engagement.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students' needs, demonstrating a commitment to their well-being.

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

Requirements:

  • A degree in Education or a related field, or equivalent experience working with children or young people.
  • Familiarity with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) practices, with a focus on providing inclusive support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and collaboration.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude essential for supporting vulnerable students, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, adapting to changing circumstances, and demonstrating flexibility.
  • A willingness to learn and grow with our organization, embracing ongoing professional development.
