About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our Materials and Processes team at GKN Aerospace. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of materials and process methods and solutions, from original concept through to production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and deployment of manufacturing processes and solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure process capability and quality.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing development and integration.
  • Resolve issues related to vendor quality and process control.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, product quality, and reduction of non-conforming parts.
  • Support the delivery and deployment of robust, repeatable, and reliable manufacturing processes.
Requirements
  • Minimum HNC (or ONC plus relevant workplace-based experience) in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
  • Strong understanding of materials and processing, preferably with experience of thermal processing of composites.
  • Experience of continuous improvement and lean management.
  • Proactive in regard to new developments of expertise required.
  • Good interpersonal skills with effective team working.
  • Proven ability to work and deliver under own initiative.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate internal/external customer requirements.
  • Achieving delivery to time, cost, and quality.
  • PC literate – MS office programs, particularly Excel.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, strong-minded, and committed.
  • Flexible and capable of working in a complex environment.
  • Capable of interfacing professionally with customers and suppliers.
