About the Role:

Protocol Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team in a Leeds primary school. As a HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs, working closely with teachers to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons, providing one-to-one support and small group instruction.
  • Develop and implement creative strategies to engage pupils and promote inclusive learning environments.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to share best practices and improve teaching methods.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Special Educational Needs and experience of working with pupils with moderate learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder, and behavioural and emotional difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality education.
  • Good Maths, English, and ICT skills, with experience of creating resources and supporting pupils in intervention groups.
