Job Description

We're seeking an exceptional Head of HR Business Development and Operations Lead to join our UK team, reporting directly to the UK HR Director. As a key member of our HR team, you'll lead the HRBP function, providing proactive and creative HR Business Partnering and initiatives to ensure our Company and Business Group objectives are developed, supported, and achieved. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the HRBP function for Avison Young in the UK, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication among teams.
  • Developing and implementing effective HR strategies, policies, and practices to drive business growth and improve employee engagement.
  • Managing employee relations, including size and shape discussions, performance management, probationary periods, disciplinaries, and grievances, while minimizing risk and providing advice to line managers.
  • Overseeing the overall management of the HRBP team, driving efficiency, and delivering high-quality services to stakeholders.
  • Acting as a conduit between line managers, employees, and the business, addressing people-related issues promptly and effectively.
  • Providing strategic HR advice to the Business, aligning with company policies and associated legal considerations.
  • Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience. You'll also enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and generous paid time off.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Degree education or equivalent.
  • Excellent working knowledge of employment law.
  • Proven ability in HR Business Partnering at team leader level, with hands-on experience in programme and project management, managing multi-site HRBP teams, and building trusted relationships with clients/stakeholders.
  • Consultancy/advisory experience is desirable; candidates from other backgrounds will be considered if they demonstrate relevant experience in similar environments.
  • Highly commercial, with experience setting and performing to commercial KPIs.
  • Expert attention to detail and ability to meet multiple deadlines in a changing environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively to various audiences.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across different departments and levels.
  • Emotional intelligence, empathy, and the ability to see things from different perspectives.
  • Maintenance of an open-minded and curious mindset, with a future-focused approach.
