Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview

Bennett and Game Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, specifying, and managing projects from feasibility to construction. This will include all aspects of Mechanical Services, ensuring projects meet British Standards and other relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and project management of Mechanical Services projects, including RIBA stages
  • Lead and run multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ensure projects meet British Standards and other relevant legislation
  • Conduct Mechanical Services Feasibility Studies and Energy Efficiency Reports
  • Develop good knowledge of mechanical design calculations for HVAC installations
  • Attend project meetings and Design Department meetings
  • Assist with implementing QA procedures for all projects

Requirements:

  • Professionally qualified to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience in Mechanical engineering, engineering consultancy, and/or mechanical installations
  • Experience in design calculation software packages: Design Builder, Heavcomp, TAS etc
  • Good working knowledge of industry regulations, mechanical design, and installations
  • Good working knowledge of utility services, both new connections and disconnections
  • Able to manage and prioritize workload to meet deadlines while maintaining good communication with clients and design teams
