Content Writer Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Content Writer to join our team at Future. As a leading publisher of homes and interiors content, we create engaging stories that inspire and inform our audience.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented writer to produce high-quality content for our Homes and Gardens brand. You'll be responsible for creating compelling articles, news pieces, and social media content that showcases your expertise in the homes and interiors sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pitch and write multiple unique daily news pieces to optimise against Google News and Discover, as well as Social and Partnerships channels.
  • Work alongside the social media editor and team to translate news content onto relevant social platforms, including first-person video and stills.
  • Combine ecommerce opportunities with news-led content to support revenue and traffic goals.
  • Collaborate with the team to learn from experiences and skills of others.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Relevant editorial experience with a background in digital.
  • A keen interest in homes and interiors, and an ability to write for American audiences.
  • SEO expertise and a keen interest in analytical tools, which you'll use to form your content crafting.
  • Writing and editing skills - from the ability to write snappy headlines to tight grammar control, through to the ability to source the right image to draw people in.
  • Understanding of media law and image rights. You will be responsible for sourcing your own images for stories and flagging any legal issues.
  • Flexibility - news traffic doesn't always peak 9-5 so some elements of the role might require a more flexible approach to hours at certain times of the year.

Location:

This is a Hybrid role based in London Paddington Office, working three days from the office, two from home.

Salary:

The expected salary for this role is up to £26,000 per annum.
