Job Title: Teacher of Art and Design

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated teacher of Art and Design to join our Expressive Arts faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality art and design education to our students, promoting creativity and innovation in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

About the Role:

This is a fixed-term position until 20th December, and the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Art and Design to students at Gracemount High School. The school is a small non-denominational secondary school serving the community of Southeast Edinburgh, with a strong focus on social justice and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver high-quality art and design education to students, promoting creativity and innovation in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  2. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, incorporating a range of art and design techniques and technologies.
  3. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support student growth and development.
  4. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans, ensuring a cohesive and effective learning experience for students.
  5. Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture, promoting social justice and community engagement.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

A strong background in Art and Design education, with a focus on creativity and innovation.Excellent teaching and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.Experience of working in a secondary school setting, with a focus on social justice and community engagement.A commitment to ongoing professional development, with a focus on staying up-to-date with best practices in Art and Design education.
