Accounts Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Accounts Assistant to join our team at Ricardo. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for the preparation of sales invoices, ensuring compliance with VAT guidance, and managing complex invoicing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sales invoices, including compliance with VAT guidance.
- Manage complex invoicing processes, including external and intercompany invoicing from overseas subsidiary companies.
- Escalate queries or issues with sales invoicing.
- Ensure credit notes are approved in line with company policy.
- Prepare monthly reporting on sales invoicing statistics for presentation to management.
- Identify and implement process improvements to maximise the efficiency of the sales invoicing function.
- Process purchase invoices within agreed guidance.
- Process employee expenses and credit/purchase cards within agreed guidance.
- Resolve queries from employees and suppliers and proactively deal with account discrepancies.
- Support preparation of weekly payment runs.
Key Competencies and Experience
- Strong computer skills, especially within Excel and Outlook.
- Experience of using accounting software.
- Good knowledge of HMRC guidance on VAT.
Desirable Competencies and Experience
- AAT Level 4 or equivalent.
- Experience of Agresso/Unit 4 ERP and Microsoft Dynamics.
