Job Summary

Control Risks is seeking a highly skilled Risk Analyst, Commercial to conduct research and analysis on political, regulatory, operational, and security risks in Western Europe, with a focus on the UK and Spain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver customized consulting projects on key topics for our clients.
  • Contribute to Control Risks' analytical coverage of political, regulatory, operational, or security risks in Western Europe, and other European countries as needed.
Online Presence and Services
  • Contribute to daily updates analyzing the implications of risks for our clients on relevant developments in the region, focusing on Western Europe, especially the UK and Spain.
  • Update and maintain online country background sections and develop and update country scenarios.
  • Conduct in-depth research to write high-quality research notes on a wide range of relevant topics for the region on a regular basis.
  • Actively participate in team discussions on European topics, risk assessments, and current developments in the region.
Networks and Sources
  • Regular liaison with Control Risks offices in the EMEA region and close collaboration between service lines.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with governments, academics, journalists, and companies in Western Europe, especially the UK and Spain.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of political, regulatory, operational, and security risks in Western Europe, especially the UK and Spain.
  • Practical experience of living, working, or traveling in the region.
  • Significant professional experience, recent and relevant (i.e., in an analytical role).
  • Academic or professional education in risk analysis, business, or security.
  • Previous experience in risk consulting.
  • Proficiency in professional English and at least one other European language.
  • Previous experience in risk analysis/consulting in the region.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g., social sciences).
  • Proficiency in professional Spanish.
