Job Description

Job Title: Head of Drama

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drama teacher to lead our Drama department at a prestigious school in Harrow. As the Head of Drama, you will be responsible for promoting creativity and excellence in Drama education, leading the department, and creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Department Leadership: Lead and manage the Drama department, overseeing the delivery of an outstanding Drama curriculum.
  • Curriculum Development: Foster a creative and inclusive learning environment that supports student development, and collaborate with colleagues to design and implement exciting Drama lessons.
  • Production and Events: Organize and direct school productions, performances, and events that showcase student talent and creativity.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
  • Professional Development: Support the professional development of Drama teachers, and participate in extracurricular Drama activities and events.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student achievements and progress.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, and a specialization in Drama or a performing arts-related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching Drama, preferably at the secondary level.
  • Leadership and Management: Strong leadership and management skills, with a passion for promoting creativity and excellence in Drama.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing professional development in Drama education.
