Job Opportunity:

A challenging role has become available within our Electronic Engineering function at MBDA, where you will be responsible for driving the development of our electronic design and manufacturing capability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development and evaluation of new processes and equipment at a national and international level.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners/suppliers, visiting as necessary which may include international travel.
  • Understand materials, characteristics and processes of circuit card assembly/printed circuit board manufacture and how we define them for use in our products to survive in harsh environments.
  • Assess printed circuit board fabrication and circuit card assembly processes via laboratory work and work with PCB suppliers and MBDA manufacturing centres.
  • Negotiate and influence decision making, providing expert advice defining best practice and managing the adoption of agreed methodologies including generating documented standards within national and international teams.
  • Participate in failure analysis of circuit card assemblies at component and board level.

Requirements:

  • Ideally HNC/HND/Degree qualified in a subject relevant to the role or demonstrable equivalent experience, with a strong understanding of PCB Design, Manufacture and Assembly technologies.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate regular face to face and electronic communications with all relevant stakeholders.
  • The ability to write clear and concise engineering documentation, examples may be requested.
  • Determined individual that is self-motivated with a methodical and logical approach with the ability to work across multiple projects.
  • Committed to achieve objectives on time and to a high professional standard, working openly and sharing information with peers.
  • Ability/flexibility to travel to other locations including international when required.
