Warehouse Operations Manager

Job Summary
DSV is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Team Lead to join our team at Mercia Park – Unit 5. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for leading a team of operators and ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Management Team in the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, focusing on achieving business targets and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Provide line management to the team, coordinating workloads, and providing support to ensure that the team delivers on production targets, KPIs, and quality standards.
- Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements, fostering a culture of working safely, and promoting a collaborative approach to working with others.
- Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation, ensuring accurate inventories, stock movements, and computerized systems.
- Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for change, ensuring that health and safety standards are met and that all lifting and manoeuvring of products and materials is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
- Manage time and attendance for operatives within the area of responsibility, communicate with staff on a regular basis, and report progress updates to the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport companies as required, ensuring that all interactions are timely and professional.
Requirements
- Team Leader skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and supervise others.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Good IT skills, particularly in spreadsheets and databases, and a knowledge of warehouse systems.
- Analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Good planning skills, with the ability to meet targets and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail skills, with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- GCSEs Level A-C, NVQ Level 2, or equivalent qualifications.
- An appropriate warehousing qualification would be advantageous.
- Certified in: Dangerous Goods Handling.
- A supervisory qualification would also be beneficial.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Team Leader, with experience of supervising and motivating a team.
- A good working knowledge of health and safety and security requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques may be advantageous.
- Fork Lift Truck licence may be required.
