About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Residential Care Worker to join our team at Cornwall Council. As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing direct care and support to disabled children and young people, ensuring their safety and well-being in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Residential Care Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality care and support to disabled children and young people, promoting their independence and well-being

• Encouraging children to have fun, learn, grow, and develop in a safe and supportive environment

• Working collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children

• Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns or issues to management

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• A Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care (or be willing to work towards it)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, colleagues, and other professionals

• A child-centered approach, with a focus on promoting the well-being and independence of disabled children and young people

• The ability to work flexibly and respond to changing circumstances, including out-of-hours and sleep-in shifts
