Job Overview
NES Fircroft is partnering with a global engineering company to fill a Senior Design Engineer position at their Christchurch facility. This role is part of the Engineering Department, which provides an engineering service for the company either individually or as part of a team, typically supervising others.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate technical content for projects and products, ensuring all objectives are met by leading in-house teams and collaborating with external resources. Oversee project execution on time and within budget, managing activities, progress, technical quality, and resource control. Promote product standardization, health and safety compliance, and ensure design documentation meets project requirements and company procedures.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Create technically compliant and cost-effective design documentation, including drawings, specifications, schedules, calculations, and manuals, meeting project requirements and company operating procedures. Ensure equipment designs meet required standards within budget and agreed timelines. Support and supervise engineers assigned to specific areas or equipment, promoting technically compliant and cost-effective design documentation. Enforce company operating procedures and statutory obligations among team members, participating in project design and safety reviews. Report to department managers and project engineers on project matters. Participate in customer meetings, training sessions, and provide technical support for equipment installation and commissioning. Develop relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure project success and future business.

Required Skills and Experience
Substantial design experience in relevant technology areas (Process Machinery). Mastery of machine design and drafting. Experience in large project management, including installation, startup, and commissioning. Effective communication on technical and non-technical issues. Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation. Able to multitask, prioritize self and others, and manage budgets. Proficient in IT systems, especially AutoCAD and 3D engineering design software. Project engineering experience from sales to installation and commissioning. Team management experience during project execution, both in-office and site-based.

Additional Requirements
Candidate must have existing UK work rights and international travel without restrictions. A UK driving license is also required.

Salary Information
The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
