Web Designer Job Description

The Starknet Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the development of Starknet, a cutting-edge layer 2 blockchain network built on top of Ethereum.

We're seeking an experienced Web Designer with a strong understanding of design principles and a passion for creating visually stunning and user-friendly web experiences. As the Web Designer, you will be responsible for designing and laying out our interfaces, influencing technical decisions, and playing a crucial role in driving Starknet's strategy and messaging across all of its web presence.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design visually appealing sites and experiences for webpages and interfaces that align with our brand identity and business goals.
  2. Influence the way Starknet's brand story is expressed through its web presence.
  3. Manage and contribute to agile end-to-end workflows. Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that drive the creative process forward through an iterative design approach.
  4. Own the relationship with developer agencies and partners, ensuring high-quality and highly-functional implementation of all designs.
  5. Be accountable for the proper functioning and maintenance of all Starknet's web properties.
  6. Constantly monitor and identify opportunities to enhance Starknet's web presence through user research, data analysis, and usability testing.
  7. Stay updated with industry trends and competitor activities to inform and refine Starknet's creative strategies and overall design systems.
  8. Collaborate closely with peer designers to evolve our visual language.
Requirements:
  1. A passion for web storytelling, and 5+ years of provable experience in web design.
  2. A strong portfolio that showcases all your web design work.
  3. Experience leading web design projects end-to-end through an iterative, design-first approach.
  4. Ability to translate high-level requirements into modern, intuitive, and intentionally architected web experiences.
  5. A sharp eye for clean and functional web design, with strong user interface design skills.
  6. Strong fundamental knowledge of formal design principles including color, typography, and layout.
  7. Clean and clear aesthetics optimized around modern design standards for developer tools and technology products.
  8. Experience taking initiative, working independently, actively resolving issues, and taking ownership of projects.
