Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Primary schools in Peterlee

Salary: £450-£500 (per week)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support the teaching and learning process at a Primary School in Peterlee. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the primary school curriculum and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivering Lessons: Leading small groups or whole classes in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
  2. Curriculum Support: Providing additional support to students in various subjects, assisting them in achieving their academic potential.
  3. Behaviour Management: Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting good behaviour and discipline in line with school policies.
  4. Assessment and Reporting: Assisting with the assessment of student progress and providing valuable feedback to teachers.
  5. Individualized Support: Offering one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, adapting teaching methods as needed.
  6. Administrative Tasks: Assisting with classroom preparation, resource management, and other administrative duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a HLTA or classroom teaching assistant in Primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the primary school curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
