Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at TimePlan Education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and engage in learning activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and engage in learning activities.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and other support staff to implement personalized learning plans tailored to each pupil's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
  • Assist with pupils' physical, medical, and emotional needs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Support the development of essential life skills and independence in pupils, helping them to reach their personal goals.
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive classroom environment where pupils feel safe and encouraged to explore their potential.
Requirements:
  • A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties, and severe learning difficulties.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, sharing insights and strategies to support pupil progress.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
  • Flexibility and resilience to meet the diverse and sometimes challenging needs of pupils.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable:
  • Experience working with children who have EHCPs and complex needs.
  • An understanding of SEN best practices, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
