Assistant Management Accountant

Permanent

Hybrid - Travel to the office at least once per month

We are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our team at Saga. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for assisting with general ledger accounting, business partnering, and the production and delivery of internal reporting for Saga Group Limited.

This role is suited to a part-qualified finance professional with a background in financial and management accounting and control. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reconciliation of all Saga Group bank accounts and associated G/L postings
  • Intercompany accounts reconciliation at month-end, ensuring this is complete within the required timescale
  • Preparation of Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Processing of timesheets for review by the Assistant Finance Manager
  • Uploading Click Travel invoices
  • Processing credit card transactions
  • Sub-let accounting (including preparation of the annual service charge reconciliation)
  • Maintenance of the Fixed asset register ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies
  • Cost centre management to include; Accruals and Prepayment journals, Monthly forecasting and modelling for the current financial year, full-year budget, longer term planning and providing variance analysis and commentary to present to internal stakeholders.
  • Supplier spend analysis
  • Adhoc projects and other data analysis as required

We are looking for a Part Qualified Accountant (either AAT, ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with a background in financial and management accounting and control, who can demonstrate strong GL accounting capability and a good understanding of financial reporting. You will also have a very high level of proficiency in the use of Excel and general ledger systems, with previous experience of Unit 4 Dream, IBM Cognos Controller, IBM TM1 and Workday (advantageous).
