About the Role: SANZA Teaching Agency is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) at a welcoming 2-form entry primary school in Southwark. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they have a positive and engaging start to their school journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with special educational needs in the Reception class.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Support children with a range of SEN, including speech and language delays, autism, and developmental delays.
  • Assist in delivering engaging and sensory-focused activities tailored to the needs of the children.
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor the progress of SEN students and provide feedback to staff and parents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN children, ideally within the EYFS or early primary settings.
  • A good understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
  • Patient, empathetic, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
