This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced public health professional to lead the Health Protection programme area in Hull. The role involves leading the programme area, including outbreak response, vaccination, system assurance, and broader leadership on place public health priorities.
This is a varied and high-profile leadership role that includes partnership development, policy development and implementation, and advocacy. Reducing the impact of health protection-related inequalities in the city will be a key priority, and the postholder will provide visible leadership for the Health Protection programme across the city and directly engage with local, regional, and national health protection partners and agencies to facilitate a joined-up response to health protection incidents, develop and share good practice, and innovate.
The postholder will have direct managerial responsibility for two posts in the public health team. This is a permanent appointment, and we are looking for someone who is already experienced and committed to this area of work but also willing to continue to learn and develop professionally as part of the public health team.
We are currently working flexibly with a hybrid of remote working and an office base at Warehouse 8, Hull City Council offices.
