Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highways Project Manager to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for delivering high-profile infrastructure projects in the Northwest region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project reporting and recording procedures with clients and professional teams.
  • Manage and integrate multiple workstreams, including highways and built environment, monitoring, decant, and enabling projects.
  • Monitor the performance of professional teams and contractors, and report to clients.
  • Liaise with professional teams and prepare regular/monthly quality, cost, and programme reports.
  • Lead technical negotiations with contractors and consultants.
  • Provide strategic thinking and forward planning to projects across all workstreams.
  • Set up and chair regular professional team, stakeholder, client, and site progress meetings, and report on weekly project and commercial progress.
  • Manage, monitor, and coordinate all key aspects of projects, including cost, value, risk, logistics, neighbor relations, statutory consents, safety, quality, M&E, design, stakeholder engagement, and environment.
  • Establish and monitor project operating procedures and systems, ensuring quality management plans are followed and adhered to.
  • Prepare detailed project plans and provide financial reports on time (forecasts, budgets, income, fees, etc.).
  • Work internally with quality managers and finance teams.
  • Review and highlight resourcing needs to project directors.
  • Promote Mace services to existing clients, seeking opportunities to diversify Mace's offer across project management and practices groups.
  • Opportunity to provide line management support.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in project management, managing small to medium and large-sized projects.
  • Developed communication, presentation, and project planning and development skills.
  • Proven understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
  • Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sector/market of project/role.
  • Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s.
  • Sound technical expertise in health and safety executive (HSE) rules and specific sector/market regulations relevant to project portfolio.
  • Knowledge of consultancy, construction, infrastructure, and property sectors/markets and an understanding of estimating, scheduling, contracts administration, procurement, commercial controls, and reporting.
  • Manages relevant stakeholders for projects.
  • Uses advanced communication skills to collaborate with others to guide others to achieve project key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills for resolving planning, estimating, contract administration, and procurement issues within construction and design activities.
