Clinical Psychologist - Older People's Services Calderdale

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in Calderdale, providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment for older adults experiencing moderate, severe, and complex mental health/psychological problems.

The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care, utilizing research skills for audit, policy, service development, and research within the areas served by the team/service.

Key responsibilities include providing advice and consultation on psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues, supervising and supporting Psychology Assistants, Trainees, and Band 7 HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologists, and offering consultation and supervision when required by other agencies involved in the psychological, emotional, and behavioural well-being of service users.

We are looking for someone with a clear interest in working with older people, who can establish rapport and build effective working relationships with service users and all those involved in their psychological, emotional, and behavioural well-being.

The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, and the ability to give bad news sensitively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment for older adults experiencing moderate, severe, and complex mental health/psychological problems.
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
  • Supervise and support Psychology Assistants, Trainees, and Band 7 HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologists.
  • Offer consultation and supervision when required by other agencies involved in the psychological, emotional, and behavioural well-being of service users.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings.
