Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding team in Sunderland. As a key member of our Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit, you will support the development and delivery of work packages for our nuclear, marine, and O&G clients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and plan projects for a team of engineers while coordinating with project management facilities.
- Produce high-quality engineering solutions across a wide range of topics and activities.
- Provide feedback on technical development and project delivery to the Lead Engineer and Project Manager.
- Offer technical guidance and support to team members, especially junior or graduate engineers.
- Efficiently manage your time to meet agreed deadlines, target costs, and quality standards with minimal supervision.

Requirements- Minimum 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Relevant senior engineering experience in sectors like offshore, renewables, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries.
- Solid background in mechanical and structural engineering.
- Proficient with CAD software, including Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia.
- Strong mathematical skills, including experience with MathCAD software.
- Skilled in producing technical reports and expertise in creating design and substantiation reports, assembly procedures, etc.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including welding and machining.
- Experienced with the engineering design cycle from Concept to Manufacture.
Familiar with European and Offshore standards, including Eurocode 3 and DNV. A Master's degree is a plus. Skilled in checking and approving engineering CAD assemblies and drawings. Proficient in verifying engineering documentation, including manual calculations and reports. Excellent Finite Element Analysis skills, including in-depth knowledge of ANSYS Workbench.
