About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons. As a Field Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting healthy and nutritious meals for young children in our nurseries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook, and present age-appropriate food for all children with minimal waste.
  • Ensure all dietary requirements are met and communicated to the team.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external standards.
  • Lead cookery club sessions with children and support other nursery activities.
  • Manage stock levels and record keeping in line with company procedures.
  • Work in partnership with the nursery team and parents to promote healthy eating habits.
  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health, and safety, and safeguarding.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive, happy, and safe environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in cooking in a domestic or commercial setting.
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating habits.
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) – must be passed on day 1 in post.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing dietary requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues, children, and parents.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
