Internal Title: Shop Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced retail store manager to join our trading team at Cancer Research UK. As a retail store manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of paid staff and volunteers, driving sales and fundraising targets, and maintaining the commercial running of the store.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a team of staff and volunteers to achieve sales and fundraising targets
  • Take ownership of the commercial running of the store, including display and merchandising, stock management, and maintaining shop standards
  • Maximise profit through effective cost control and sales
  • Create relationships with the local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues
  • Organise and run creative fundraising events to achieve fundraising targets
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration, and HR policies

Requirements:

  • Commercial awareness and knowledge of high street fashion retail
  • Experience of retail management, ideally in a similar environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Training and Development:

You will spend 4 weeks in a training shop, learning from a Training Shop Manager, which may be at a different location to the role you applied for. This will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the role.
