About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Control Surveyor to join our team at ATS Recruitment. As a Building Control Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that buildings are constructed and converted in accordance with building regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect buildings under construction and/or conversion, working closely with developers and builders to ensure compliance with building regulations.
  • Plan checking to ensure compliance with building regulations.
  • Effectively self-manage your workload to provide a responsive, helpful, and professional service while maximizing time spent on site.
  • Record inspection details on the database and communicate comments to customers.
  • Liaise with surveyors and management on technical matters to ensure standards are maintained and procedures are adhered to.
  • Liaise with developers/clients/builders, offering technical advice and guidance.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required and build relationships.
Requirements
  • Ideal registration to BSR Level 2-3 or on route.
  • Great communication skills, technically astute, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Full member or near chartership of professional organizations: MRICS / MCABE, MCIOB, MCICIOW or similar in the appropriate discipline of Building Control.
  • Able to conduct inspections at each stage of the build.
  • 5 years relevant BC experience, plan check and site inspections, and relevant warranty, quality, or defect resolution experience.
  • Appropriate knowledge and understanding of the Building Regulations, associated legislation, and construction standards.
  • Understanding of general insurance principles and terminology desirable.
