We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Clerk to join our team in Oxfordshire, Witney. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare weekly cash flow reports for management, showcasing the company's financial health.
- Reconcile daily bank statements, verifying all transactions are accurately allocated.
- Review supplier contracts to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Post journals for management information purposes, providing valuable insights into the company's financial performance.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and prepare financial figures for management and directors, supporting informed decision-making.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile merchant service payments to prevent discrepancies.
- Conduct weekly customer debtor analysis and liaise with debtors to collect outstanding payments.
- Post monthly journals for management accounts, including payroll, to maintain up-to-date financial records.
- Reconcile payments to the master cash book monthly, verifying accuracy.
- Post invoices and credit notes to the purchase ledger, ensuring timely payment processing.
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve outstanding queries to maintain positive relationships.
- Reconcile daily bank statements to the master cash book, identifying any discrepancies.
- Manage invoices: distribution for authorisation, nominal coding, and preparation for the purchase ledger.
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software, utilizing its features to streamline financial processes.
- Advanced IT literacy, particularly with Word and Excel, to effectively manage financial data.
- Experience with VAT and PAYE regulations, ensuring compliance with tax laws.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, maintaining high-quality financial records.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines with a professional and conscientious attitude.
- Self-motivation with the capability to collaborate closely with management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with stakeholders.
Estimated Salary: £20-£25 per hour (negotiable after probation)
