Job Title: Senior Mechanical Risk Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Risk Consultant to manage complex projects for multi-national organisations in the construction sector, based in London.

The Role:

  • Investigate and analyse risk engineering programs for construction project insurance risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Documentation Review: Review technical documentation to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with international engineering standards.
  2. Risk Analysis and Assessment: Analyse project schedules and cost documentation to assess risk exposure and provide detailed risk summaries.
  3. Contract Interpretation and Policy Compliance: Interpret contracts and policies to ensure compliance and negotiate survey recommendations to achieve mutually agreeable conclusions.
  4. Risk Engineering Programs Development: Develop tailored risk engineering programs for insured clients, considering stakeholder needs and providing technical support.
  5. Tender Processes Management: Create and manage tender processes for third-party services and coordinate individual risk engineering surveys globally.
  6. Progress Reporting and Budget Management: Provide technical support to clients, summarise progress reports, and manage risk engineering budgets effectively.
  7. Ongoing Training and Professional Development: Maintain technical competency through ongoing training and professional development and present complex technical information to clients and stakeholders.

The Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working as an engineer in the construction sector.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; additional qualifications in risk management are desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Proven writing skills for producing detailed technical reports.
  • Membership of relevant engineering associations is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of international engineering standards and codes.
  • Familiarity with fire protection and detection systems.

Estimated Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
